01This agreement
These terms are the agreement between you and SKILLS GLOBAL LIMITED (“we”, “us”) for your use of the Skills Global website and platform, including courses, assessments, and credentials.
By creating an account or using the platform, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the platform. Our privacy policy forms part of this agreement.
02Your account
You must be at least 16 years old to hold an account. You give accurate details when you register and keep them up to date — a credential is issued in the name on your account, so an inaccurate name makes it worthless to you.
- Your account is personal to you. Do not share your login with anyone.
- You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.
You can close your account at any time from your profile or by emailing us.
03Purchases and pricing
Courses and assessments are sold individually, and some are sold together as a bundle at a stated price. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay, in the currency shown, including any tax we are required to add.
- Payment is taken by our payment provider. Your purchase completes when we confirm the payment, not when you submit the form.
- Access is granted for what you bought. Buying a course does not include the assessment unless the listing says it does, and buying an assessment does not include the course.
- We may change prices at any time. A change never affects something you have already bought.
- If a price is displayed incorrectly through an obvious error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than honour it.
04Refunds and cancellation
Digital content is delivered as soon as you get access. Where you have a statutory right to cancel a distance purchase, that right ends once delivery begins with your agreement, which is what happens when you open the course or start the assessment.
- Before you access it — email us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund in full.
- After you access it — we do not refund as a matter of course, but we will look at any request where the content was not as described or the platform did not work.
- Assessments — an attempt that has been started is used, whatever the outcome. Failing an assessment is not grounds for a refund.
Refund requests go to [email protected]. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method.
05Assessments and academic honesty
Assessments are the reason a Skills Global credential means anything. Taking one is a statement that the work is yours.
You must not:
- let anyone else sit an assessment for you, or sit one for anyone else;
- use unauthorised material or assistance during an assessment;
- copy, record, publish, or circulate assessment questions or answers; or
- interfere with how an assessment is delivered or marked.
Where we find, on reasonable grounds, that any of this has happened, we may void the attempt, refuse or revoke a credential, and suspend or close the account. We do not refund in these cases.
Attempt limits, time limits, and pass marks are shown before you start. A failed attempt is recorded against your account but never appears on the public credential record.
06Credentials
A credential states that a named person passed a specific assessment on a specific date. It is issued by us, and its status is maintained by us.
- Where a credential requires several assessments, it is issued only when all of them are passed.
- A credential may carry an expiry date. An expired credential shows as expired on the verifier rather than disappearing.
- We may revoke a credential if it was issued in error, if the assessment behind it was compromised, or if it was obtained dishonestly. Revocation shows on the verifier.
- You may share your credential and its identifier freely. You may not alter it, or present it as certifying something it does not.
A credential is a record of assessed competency. It is not a licence, a professional registration, or a guarantee of employment, and we make no promise about how any third party will treat it.
07Acceptable use
When using the platform, you must not:
- break the law, or infringe anyone’s rights;
- copy, download, resell, or redistribute course content except as the platform allows;
- scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract content or credential records;
- probe, attack, or attempt to bypass the security of the platform or another user’s account;
- upload malware, or anything unlawful, abusive, or deliberately misleading; or
- impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your association with a person or organisation.
08Intellectual property
The platform, its content, and the Skills Global name and marks belong to SKILLS GLOBAL LIMITED or our licensors. Buying a course gives you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access it for your own learning for as long as your access lasts. It does not transfer ownership of anything.
Anything you submit stays yours. You grant us the licence we need to host it, mark it, and run the service.
09Availability and changes
We aim to keep the platform available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend, or withdraw features, and we may take the platform down for maintenance. We will give notice of planned downtime where we reasonably can. If we withdraw a course you have bought and cannot give you access, we will refund the unused part of what you paid.
10Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or to protect the platform and its users. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right.
If your account closes, credentials already issued to you remain verifiable unless they have been revoked. You lose access to courses and assessments you have not completed, and we do not refund them where the closure follows a breach by you.
11Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that:
- the platform is provided as it is, and we do not promise it will meet any particular requirement or produce any particular outcome;
- we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss; and
- our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
If you use the platform for business purposes, these limits apply in full. If you use it as a consumer, they apply only to the extent the law allows, and your statutory rights are unaffected.
12Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform and the law change. The date at the top of the page shows the current version. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the platform after that means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, close your account.
13General
These terms, together with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between us about the platform. If any part of them is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under this agreement without our written consent.
